Arret Wines
Arret Wines is a boutique winery led by the duo Rok and Maja, both passionate wine lovers, vine enthusiasts, and hard workers. It was founded with the vision of presenting world-class wines both locally and internationally, which are produced in the vineyards above Šentjernej, while also offering visitors a unique and UNFORGETTABLE WINE TASTING EXPERIENCE.
Arret Wines is more than just wine in a bottle. It is the story of a passionate wine enthusiast who went all in, changing careers to dedicate all his time to the vineyards and wine, realizing his vision of the first generation of an exceptionally successful boutique winery – Arret Wines.
“Arete is a concept from ancient Greek philosophy that, in its most basic meaning, refers to ‘excellence.’ It means living life to its fullest potential. It represents a person who effectively uses all their abilities—strength, courage, and intellect—to achieve outstanding results. And this is what we believe in at ARRET WINES.”
“From the beginning of this story until today, all their vineyards have been newly planted with carefully selected clones of Chardonnay, fragrant Traminer, Riesling, Blaufränkisch, King’s, Pinot Noir, and Velvet Black. In the densely planted vineyards, the cultivation method is the single Guyot.”
“In their vineyards, they strive for the highest quality of the raw material and therefore pay exceptional attention to the grapes already in the vineyard. They believe that only with excellent raw material can you produce exceptional wine, and this principle is what they follow.”
“Our philosophy is simple. Our wines are a reflection of who we are, what we enjoy, and the values we cherish. In our wines, there is respect for our customers, as we offer them something pleasant and unforgettable in every bottle. There is respect for our vineyards, which we carefully tend to with minimal intervention in the integrity of the vine. And finally, what matters most to us: adhering to a sustainable approach in the production of exceptional wines, which we can be proud of today and in the years to come.”
