Base 20

During World War II, Base 20 was the headquarters of the military and political leadership of the Slovenian national liberation movement, and other Partisan establishments. Today, it is the only preserved such memorial of a resistance movement in Europe. 26 barracks were built here. The role and significance of Base 20 are shown in a permanent exhibition in Barrack no 16, while Barrack no 22 houses the permanent exhibition of the diversity of the Partisan activities in Kočevski Rog. The Partisan hospitals, Jelendol and Zgornji Hrastnik, are located nearby, and the Pugled hospital is a little further away.
