The Krka River is home to numerous river fish, particularly rich in trout. In our area, fishing is possible at selected spots along the entire length of the Krka River and its tributaries, depending on the type of permit purchased.

A popular fishing spot is at the source of the Radeščica in Podturn. Radeščica is one of the Krka’s tributaries, which is excellent for fly fishing. The fishing season at the source begins on March 1st, while the section where it flows into the Krka River opens on May 1st. In both areas, the season ends on November 30th.

From the dam at HE in Zagradec to the dam in Soteska, the variety of fish is greater, and the water temperature is stable, providing favorable living conditions. The best time for fishing in this section is from the beginning of April to the end of June.

From the dam in Soteska to Meniška Vas, you can catch cyprinid species of fish, particularly pike, as well as catfish, which is most often caught in the summer evenings using bottom fishing.
