The “Gallery of Naive Artists” Trebnje
The Gallery of Naive Artists Trebnje has been operating within the public institution CIK Trebnje since 1994, with its origins dating back to 1971. The gallery houses a collection of artworks by naive and self-taught artists, which emerged as a result of activities related to the Naive Artists’ Colony (first organized in 1968). With an extensive collection representing over 320 artists from 50 countries, the gallery regularly organizes exhibitions, lectures, discussions, and presentations. Artworks from the collection have been showcased not only in Slovenia but also in Poland, Slovakia, Italy, Croatia, and Serbia. The gallery, through its colonies, explores contemporary trends in naive art, where artists exhibit their works, create, and exchange ideas during these gatherings.
Winter opening hours (1st October – 30th April):
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Saturday: 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Summer opening hours (1st May – 30th September):
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Saturday: 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM
The gallery is closed to visitors every Sunday and Monday, as well as on the following national holidays: January 1st, May 1st, November 1st, and December 25th. 12. For announced groups, visits to the gallery are also possible outside of regular opening hours.
