Vinji Vrh Archaeological Site

The interweaving of cultures in the Šmarješke Toplice area is mainly confirmed by archaeological finds from different historical periods. On Vinji Vrh, a strongly fortified settlement was established as early as the Iron Age, as evidenced by discoveries in burial grounds. A special find is the so-called “orant,” a pendant from the Celtic period, whose motif still sparks the imagination today.
